Editing Work

Samples from my time at Mormon Insights
Samples from my editing basics course

I did several substantive edits of Liz Blogett's article about how her visit to Church history sites changed her understand of her faith's leaders. See my first edit and my second edit. (I have her permission to share this.)

My additions are in bold and suggested cuts are stuck out. I wrote comments in bolded brackets.

Final version will be uploaded once published.

I did a substantive edit and copy edit for Cynthia Chan's Mormon Insights article about her testimony of God's omnipotence and love.

See my edits here. (I have her permission to share this.)

For these three documents, I was asked to edit for content and clarity as a class assignment. Each author wrote about a topic related to their experiences with editing. I made my edits using track changes and later discussed those edits with the authors. Often, I made substantive edits to perfect the paper flow and strengthen the thesis. But other edits were far more minor, such as misplaced commas and improperly used em dashes. (I received permission to include the work I completed for them in my portfolio.)
